My Muzzleloader Shot Groups
Here are some of my test shot groups using a TC Omega .45 caliber muzzleloader, with Hodgdons
777 loose powder. I used both the Dead Center and QT .40 sabot black powder rifle or muzzleloader bullets.
These shot groups are typical when using Precision Rifle muzzleloader or blackpowder bullets.
Please be sure and review my Muzzleloader
Accuracy link to learn the secret to getting these
tight groups with your own black powder rifle.
This first group was only the
second three shot group I ever
fired with the .40 QT 215
(the first group is below and
measures just 1 inch).
The only changes I made was to
increase the load from 90 to
105 grains of 777 and change
from FFFg to FFg. Life
is truly great! I could
not ask for more in any bullet
and rifle combination. I
just wish my .270 did so
well. Oh yeah, I also
did some sanding on the
forearm of the stock to get
the barrel floating.
