Extreme Muzzleloader Bullets
EXTREME 253 HP BT
EXTREME 253, as suggested by the name, is designed
for shooters going to the extreme of modern muzzleloading. The full boat-tail base design
enhances down range velocity and energy. High
pressure sabots allow charges of up to 3 Pyrodex pellets or 150 grains of RS.
Groups under .5 MOA have been recorded with this bullet and 150 grains of RS.
Ballistic coefficiency is .300 in 330 grain.
Since being introduced in 1998, the EXTREME HP has become our most popular saboted
bullet. In addition to Elk and Moose, the EXTREME has made several very successful
trips to Africa where it has taken on the largest plains animals in the world.
Craig Teal from MN harvested his "Top 5 In the World" Gemsbok with a single 275 grain EXTREME.
WARNING DO NOT USE ANY SMOKELESS POWDER IN ANY MUZZLELOADER OTHER THAN THE
SAVAGE MODEL 10ML-I OR MODEL 10ML-II.
Here is my first attempt with my new Savage 10ML-II using the Extreme 330 grain with 42 grains of SR 4759 powder.
I will undoubtedly be able to improve on this upon working up a load. However, it is refreshing to get this
kind of group from a gun right out of the box using the first load I tried.
